How to clean silverware to shine: 4 useful tips
SSPDaily has prepared tips for cleaning silver. Find out how to shine silver products and keep them in optimal condition.
Baking soda
To make silverware look its best, you can use a simple polishing method with baking soda. To do this, mix three parts baking soda with one part water.
Apply the product to the silverware with a soft cloth, and then gently rub and polish to restore the shine. After that, rinse everything off with warm water and dry the silverware thoroughly to make it shine beautifully.
Aluminum foil and salt
Line a pan with aluminum foil, fill it with hot water, and add a few tablespoons of salt. The tarnished silverware should be placed in the pan and left for a few minutes. During this process, the tarnish should transfer from the silverware to the aluminum foil, leaving it shiny.
Vinegar and baking soda
Silver items can be soaked in a mixture of 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 2 tablespoons of baking soda for two to three hours. After that, rinse the silverware and then dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth to restore its natural shine.
Microfiber cloths
Silverware can be polished by hand with a microfiber cloth. Just wipe it back and forth with the cloth to remove tarnish.
