How to determine the acidity of the soil on the site: 3 useful tips
There are several methods to determine the acidity of the soil on the site. SSPDaily told you about the three most common ways to do it.
The vinegar method
Collect soil samples from different areas and put them in separate containers. Add a small amount of vinegar to each sample and observe the reaction. If the soil fizzes or bubbles, it is most likely alkaline, and if there is no reaction, it indicates neutral soil, and strong fizzing indicates acidic soil.
Using plants
Some plants are sensitive to soil acidity, for example, hydrangeas change color depending on the pH level. Plant a few of these flowers or other indicator plants in different areas of the garden, and observe the color of the flowers or leaves. If they turn blue, the soil is probably acidic, and if they turn pink or red, it is alkaline.
