How to easily peel boiled eggs: effective life hacks
When peeling hard-boiled eggs, you can easily damage the white, which will make them look unattractive. To avoid this, SSPDaily has prepared several simple ways to peel eggs.
1. Cooking process
The method of cooking has a significant impact on the ease of peeling eggs. Put the eggs in a saucepan filled with cold water. To make the peeling process easier, add a teaspoon of baking soda to raise the pH of the water and eggs while cooking.
This method effectively makes peeling the shell easier and faster without damaging the egg's contents. Also, keep in mind that fresh eggs tend to be harder to peel. When the eggs are cooked to perfection, pour out the boiling water and replace it with cold water.
You can add a few ice cubes to speed up the cooling process. This ice water bath will create a tiny gap between the shell and the egg, making it easier to peel effortlessly.
2. The shaking method
Another effective method is to place the hard-boiled eggs in a container with a securely screwed-on lid. After making sure the lid is tightly closed, shake it several times.
When you remove the lid, you will see that the shell has formed numerous cracks, making it very easy to clean. Please note that it may take a little practice to get good results from this method to avoid over-damaging the eggs during shaking.
3. The spoon method
Start by boiling the eggs with the baking soda as mentioned earlier. Once the eggs are fully cooked, cooled, and rinsed, take an egg in one hand and a spoon in the other.
Vigorously tap the spoon on the wider side of the egg, creating small cracks and breaking the air bubble trapped inside. After that, insert the spoon between the shell and the contents of the egg and twist gently. This will allow you to easily release the egg from the shell. You can use the same technique to peel an avocado.
