Israeli researchers have confirmed the authenticity of the biblical story using the Earth's magnetic field
Israeli archaeologists have developed a new technology to authenticate historical events mentioned in the Bible. In this instance, a team of scientists from Tel Aviv University, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Bar-Ilan University, and Ariel University focused on verifying the destruction of the Philistine city of Gath.
As reported by bnnbreaking.com, an interdisciplinary team of experts created a method to analyze the Earth's magnetic field recorded in burnt bricks. This method enables estimation of combustion temperature and identification of materials found in archaeological excavations.
Unveiling secrets of the past
the innovative technique relies on measuring magnetic fields in fired clay materials like mud bricks to determine if they were exposed to high temperatures. This aids in establishing the intensity and extent of destruction at archaeological sites.
What sets this method apart is its capability to detect changes in magnetic signals at lower temperatures, as low as 200°C, unlike previous methods that required higher temperatures to identify mineral changes.
In the verification of biblical evidence
researchers applied this technology to confirm the biblical account of the conquest of the Philistine city of Gath by King Azael of Aram. By studying the orientation of magnetic fields in the bricks from Gath, they concluded that the bricks were burned in place during a fire. This aligns with the historical narrative of the city's destruction, providing support for the authenticity of certain biblical events.
