Step-by-step guide: how to clean the inside of your oven in a few minutes
People don't like to clean ovens as it's not the most pleasant task in the kitchen. That's why they often ignore this need by simply closing the door. In this case, experts warn, you will be in trouble after a while.
The website bobrstime.com writes, "It may take months before you realize the horror of the situation, especially when you are faced with huge layers of frozen grease and dirt. And this time, you'll have to work hard to get rid of them."
However, there is a solution to the problem. Follow this step-by-step guide and it will take you only a few minutes to clean your oven.
Step 1. Let the oven cool down
Make sure the oven is turned off and cooled down. Clean the oven racks before you start scrubbing off any dirt and food residue from the walls.
Step 2. Make a cleaning agent
A great way to clean your oven is to use a simple homemade solution of baking soda and water.
To do this, you will need baking soda (½ cup), water (2-3 tablespoons), white vinegar, a damp dish cloth, rubber gloves, and a spray bottle.
Tip. To make a cleaning agent, mix baking soda with water until a paste is formed.
Step 3. Apply the paste to the stained areas
Spread the cleaner on the inside of the oven. Use rubber gloves if the oven is particularly dirty. If the paste starts to turn brown, this is normal.
Step 4. Leave to set
Leave the baking soda solution in the oven for 12 hours (better overnight).
Step 5. Wipe down the oven
After the time passed, take a damp dish cloth and wipe the inside as best you can. You can use a spatula to scrape off any hard baking soda residue in hard-to-reach areas.
Step 6. Spray the surface with vinegar
Pour some white vinegar into a spray bottle and spray it all over the inside of the oven. The vinegar will react with the baking soda and start to foam. Do not be scared. This is normal.
Step 7. Wipe down the oven
Take a damp cloth and wipe down the oven one last time, cleaning every nook and cranny to make sure all the baking soda residue is gone. Spray again with vinegar to make sure it's 100 percent clean.
Step 8. Wipe down the rack
Once the inside of the oven is completely clean and dry, wipe down the racks and replace them.
And that's it! Your oven is sparkling clean and ready to use again.
