What to do if you accidentally wet a book: useful life hacks
It is very unpleasant when you accidentally spill something on a book. However, don't despair, because there are simple life hacks that will help you save your favorite volumes. SSPDaily has prepared several ways to help dry a book.
Freezing
If the book is very wet, you can use the freezing method. Put it in a bag, freeze it, and then shake it gently to remove the moisture crystals that have formed. After defrosting, allow the book to dry gradually at room temperature.
Absorbing moisture
If your book gets wet, first gently wipe the surface of the paper with dry materials such as paper towels or a soft cloth. Place sheets of paper between the pages to absorb the moisture. Then leave the book open in a well-ventilated area until it dries completely.
Silica gel bags
Place the book in a plastic bag with silica gel. They have excellent moisture-absorbing properties and can help dry it out. Seal the bag tightly and leave the book with the silica gel for a day or two to absorb the moisture.
