Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family, but it can happen that you suddenly see inappropriate photos on your page or unknown names in your friend list. This situation is frightening, especially if you don't know how to get rid of it.

To help deal with the problem, Fox News has published a step-by-step guide for Facebook subscribers: "How to remove unwanted photos from your page". SSPDaily prepared these recommendations and the issue of harmful content will be closed for you forever.

How to remove unwanted photos from your Facebook page

If you see photos on your Facebook page that are not relevant to you, you can report them to the social networking service and have them removed from your page.

Here's how to do it:

  • Open the photo you want to remove.
  • Click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner.
  • From the menu, select Report Photo.

Follow the instructions, and then click the Submit button.

If you still see the photos, do the following to hide them:

  • Find the image you want to remove in your feed.
  • Click on the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the photo.
  • Select "Hide post" from the menu.

How to report fake accounts in your friends list

If you notice unfamiliar names in your friends list, they may be fake accounts created by spammers or hackers who want to access your personal information or send you malicious links. Report these accounts to Facebook and unfriend them

Here are the steps you need to take to do this:

  • Go to the profile of the account you want to report.
  • Click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the profile.
  • From the menu, select Report Profile.
  • Follow the instructions.

After you report an account, unfriend it by clicking the Friends button on its profile and selecting Unfriend from the menu.

How to protect yourself from malicious Facebook ads

Not all photos on Facebook are safe and appropriate. Some photos may contain malicious code or links that could infect your device or violate your privacy. Such photos are called malicious ads that are activated when you click on them.

To avoid becoming a victim of hackers, you need to install reliable antivirus software. In this case, if you accidentally click on one of the fraudulent photos or links, the antivirus will kick in and block the dangerous content.
