Why Apple abandoned the MagSafe battery and is there any hope it will appear in the iPhone 15

In either case, the second device will be charged via a two-way MagSafe connection.

But while Apple has re-released the AirPods Pro with USB-C, it has not done so for the battery pack. All is not lost, however, as John Gruber, writing for Daring Fireball, explains. "Apple has never released a battery case at the same time as the announcement of the corresponding iPhone. They announced the iPhone in September, and released the battery packs, without any fuss, 2 months later. This was probably done with intent - Apple didn't want to announce these products at the same time as the new models to avoid speculation that the device needed an external battery because the built-in battery was not enough."

This means that we may see the battery pack become popular again thanks to USB-C. It is equally likely that Apple is now revising its design, with a more powerful battery and a new connector.

There are competitors from other companies that offer enough power to fully charge even the largest iPhone. Gruber notes that "all the third-party devices seem to be 'magnetic' or unofficially 'MagSafe'-Apple's hold up better, too."

When the battery disappeared, so did the MagSafe Duo Charger, a smart, foldable accessory for iPhone and Apple Watch. It also worked with Lightning, but it felt like its time had passed. In the end, it doesn't fit all iPhones as well as I would have liked because of the large camera panels in the latest phone models, especially the Pro versions. And competitors such as Nomad's models have become much better options, although they are too heavy to use as a charger while traveling.

Based on the above, the expert suggests waiting until November to see if Apple has "something new up its sleeve."
