Adele to Take Indefinite Break from Music to Live 'New Life'
In a heartfelt revelation at her final European tour show in Munich, Adele told fans that she would be stepping away from music for an "incredibly long time" to live the new life she's built, Sky News reported. This announcement came soon after she confirmed her engagement to U.S. sports agent Rich Paul. The singer emphasized her need for rest and a desire to embrace the new chapters she’s been crafting in her life.
Expressing gratitude to her supporters, Adele said, "I’d like to thank you so much for coming to my show this evening." Addressing her discomfort with performing despite her skill, she mentioned enjoying the last three years of performances. "After ten more shows back in my Las Vegas residency, I will not see you for an incredibly long time. I’ve spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now."
Adele’s two-year weekend residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace has been a pivotal part of her career. Her recent stint in Munich saw her perform in a massive, temporary arena with a capacity of over 73,000, garnering a historic 730,000 ticket sales. This move to a temporary venue stands as a testament to her monumental popularity outside Las Vegas.
Adele’s engagement was made official during her Munich gig when she informed a fan proposing to her that she couldn’t accept as she was already getting married. Having been in a relationship with Rich Paul since 2021, and managing life post-separation from Simon Konecki, Adele looks forward to her future both personally and professionally.
Concluding her announcement, she reflected on her career and interactions with fans fondly. "I will fantasize about these shows... It has been amazing, I just need a rest," she said. Adele recalled her meteoric rise beginning with her debut album "19" in 2008, followed by "21" and "25." Her latest album "30", marked her return in 2021, performing at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
Looking ahead, Adele’s Las Vegas shows are set to conclude in November. She intimated moving into other creative avenues while navigating the responsibilities of raising her son Angelo.
