Engagement Announcement: Holly Ramsay and Adam Peaty
Gordon Ramsay’s daughter, Holly, is engaged to British Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Adam Peaty, US Weekly reported.
"I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you," Holly, 24, captioned a series of photos showing off her engagement ring via Instagram on Thursday, September 12. She added, "Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen, and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife."
Holly expressed her commitment to Peaty and his 4-year-old son George, saying, "I promise to always be there with you and George. Everything is better with you. Here’s to forever."
Adam Peaty, 29, responded on Instagram, "I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring, and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace." Peaty, who has been dating Holly for three years, shared his excitement about their future together, notably admiring how Holly loves his son George. "Seeing you show the love you give to the most important person in my life, George, even from day one, there was never a question about you becoming my wife one day. I promise to always love you with all my heart," he concluded.
The couple first met in 2021 when Peaty and Holly’s sister, Tilly, 22, appeared as celebrity contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, the U.K. equivalent of Dancing With the Stars. Tilly commented under Holly’s engagement announcement, "Couldn’t be happier for you both!! I love you guys."
Adam Peaty won gold medals in men’s 100-meter breaststroke at the 2016 Rio Olympics, retained the title in 2020 Tokyo Games, and further earned a silver medal in the same event in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Additionally, Peaty took gold in the mixed 4×100-meter medley relay in 2020 and won silver medals in the men’s 4×100-meter medley relay in both 2016 and 2020.
Peaty previously separated from his ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro, the mother of his son, in August 2022, and admitted to experiencing a "self-destructive spiral" after the 2022 Commonwealth Games, which led to him taking a break from competitive swimming after suffering a foot injury.
Holly Ramsay, part of the big Ramsay family, is one of six children shared by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and his wife, Tana. They have Megan, Holly’s twin brother Jack, Tilly, Oscar, and the newest addition, Jesse James Ramsay, born in November 2023. Gordon Ramsay shared the news of Jesse’s birth on Instagram, celebrating, "What an amazing birthday present! Please welcome Jesse James Ramsay. One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!!"
