Rapper Lil Baby Arrested on Concealed Weapon Charge in Las Vegas
Rapper Dominique Armani Jones, known to fans as Lil Baby, was arrested around 5 a.m. on Monday, August 26, on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, People reported. The arrest occurred on the 3100 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, who confirmed the incident but withheld further details.
Jones, 29, posted a cash bond after being booked into the Clark County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on October 1. Court records reveal that while he has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon (CCW) Permit, Nevada does not recognize concealed weapon permits from Georgia, as stated on the Georgia Attorney General's website. This discrepancy has been highlighted by Lil Baby’s attorneys, Drew Findling, and David Chesnoff, who are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Reps for Lil Baby did not immediately comment on the situation. Lil Baby has had previous legal encounters, including arrests in Paris during Fashion Week in 2021 for allegedly "transporting drugs" and in Atlanta in February 2019 for reckless driving.
The Grammy-nominated rapper is currently working on a follow-up to his 2022 album, "It's Only Me," with his latest Instagram post before the arrest indicating that it is "80% done."
