Man Brought His Wife Along to Our Date to See If I Was Attractive – I Was Gobsmacked
Sarah Ingram Elizabeth, recently divorced after 19 years of marriage, decided to give dating another try but didn’t want to be bound to a single man. She chose an extramarital dating site, Illicit Encounters, where people discreetly meet married individuals interested in having affairs, claiming such arrangements make marriages happier. Sarah had been content with her experiences on the site until one encounter left her shocked.
Anticipating a date with a man she'd been today chatting with, Sarah was astonished when he brought his wife along. She discovered that his wife wanted to ensure Sarah wasn’t prettier than she was. The 53-year-old travel consultant from the West Midlands felt misled. She emphasized that she’s not interested in breaking up marriages and enjoys her independence in these relationships.
While Sarah has had delightful dates with men she wouldn't have met otherwise, she recounted this bizarre experience: "I met him at a restaurant, and after a few minutes of chatting, his wife approached us. She had apparently been observing us from afar." This caught Sarah off guard, making her uncomfortable and she made her displeasure clear.
The man apologized, explaining that he believed Sarah would refuse the date if she knew his wife intended to vet her. Sarah admitted she would have declined if forewarned and noted that his wife had permitted him to seek other women, provided they weren’t as attractive as she was. After an awkward pause, Sarah chose to bow out, wishing him well.
Sarah shared that she had arranged to meet another man at 6:30 pm but was asked to leave by 7 pm for his next date. On a separate occasion, she was told by her date that he had to leave early because he lived with his mother, who would lock the door by a certain time.
Despite these odd encounters, Sarah expressed that she’s had numerous enjoyable relationships from the site, finding dating married men to be liberating. She explained: "People don’t fully grasp the complexities of extramarital affairs. Personal change is inevitable through life, and while it's ideal for couples to evolve together, the reality is often different. Thus, it’s important not to judge a situation without having experienced it."
