Man found his wife's secret Google account – it's left him sick to the stomach
No matter the duration of a relationship, there's always a possibility of not knowing everything about your partner, as a father-of-one learned when he discovered a secret folder on his wife’s tablet. He shared his unsettling discovery on social media Reddit, revealing how disturbed and sickened he felt.
The 36-year-old recounted meeting his wife, Bailey, nine years ago through mutual friends. "I fell completely in love with her; she was everything I had been searching for. I had just come out of a toxic, abusive, long-term relationship with a woman Bailey knew but wasn’t friends with. I've had no contact with my ex since our breakup."
They married in 2021, bought a house, and welcomed their first child. "Being a dad is a dream come true. I thought I finally had the perfect life with the perfect wife. That was until last Monday when everything changed."
When his laptop broke, the man grabbed his wife’s tablet to finish his work. "We’ve always used each other's devices without needing permission; we had nothing to hide, or so I thought. I opened the internet to find an incognito tab open. Never did I imagine discovering a secret Google account." To his horror, he found a photo album named 'XX' containing over 300 photos of his ex-girlfriend—the woman who made him feel worthless.
The album, started around the onset of their relationship and updated two weeks prior, contained a variety of images, from family gatherings to work functions, yearbook photos, and even vacation pictures. In many of these photos, Bailey had scribbled out everyone else, cropping and zooming in only on his ex.
Adding to the distress, he noticed that Bailey had started imitating his ex’s hairstyle and clothing. "She recently began changing her hair and wearing specific outfits mirroring my ex’s. There were links to identical clothing items, and even the same water bottle and hiking gear."
Feeling deeply troubled, he concluded, "My partner has been secretly stalking my ex to the point of transforming into her. Bailey’s new interests each year were just reflections of my ex’s. Everything feels like a lie. I had a panic attack, threw up, and felt betrayed when I looked at our daughter. I haven't confronted Bailey. Part of me wants to leave all these pictures on the table and disappear with our daughter. I'm lost on what to do."
Readers of the Reddit post were equally shocked. One suggested, "This is definitely alarming. Address it now; see what changes if she no longer has someone to replicate. A more cynical part of me would drop hints about her resemblance to someone and walk away."
