Kentucky Team Sets New Guinness World Record with 2,032 Strikes in 24 Hours
Louisville residents Steve Wiseman, Trace Wiseman, Kyle Reed, and Erik Howard set a new Guinness World Record by achieving 2,032 strikes during a 24-hour bowling marathon at Kingpin in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, World Record Academy reported. Their effort took place on Monday and ended successfully at Lane One.
The event, aiming to break the record for the most strikes in 24 hours in 10-pin bowling by a team of four, was in a new category established by Guinness, which required a minimum of 1,200 strikes. The quartet managed to surpass this mark around 14 hours into their attempt and continued to bowl, eventually reaching their final total of 2,032 strikes.
Throughout the marathon, video and other supporting evidence were recorded for official submission to Guinness for verification of the accomplishment. Importantly, Steve and Trace Wiseman also hold world records for the most pins knocked down in a 24-hour period as a duo and as a team of four.
Additionally, Angie Smith organized a raffle at the event to support the Friend for Life Cancer Support Network, a cause significant to her due to her own experience as an eight-year breast cancer survivor. The raffle included prizes such as Professional Bowler's Association autographed items and a bowling ball used by Kyle Troup in the 2024 U.S. Open.
