Riders Stranded At Suspended Six Flags Attraction During Storm
During a storm at Six Flags Mexico, an amusement park ride malfunctioned, leaving riders stranded 243 feet in the air. This incident occurred on August 18, and among the riders was Omar Hernández Medrano, who captured footage of the ordeal, PEOPLE reported. Medrano was aboard the Sky Screamer, also known as Supergirl Sky Flight when the ride stopped due to intense rain and winds.
According to Medrano, he and others were left dangling at the peak of the ride for roughly ten minutes before being evacuated. Park officials stated that the severe weather caused multiple rides to temporarily cease operation. Subsequently, all necessary safety protocols were implemented, and no injuries were reported.
Six Flags Mexico acknowledged the situation on social media, explaining that the storm abruptly halted several attractions and that established procedures were promptly followed. Unfortunately, the storm intensified during the evacuation, creating some discomfort among riders. However, park staff attended to everyone, and normal operations resumed later in the day.
