Tech YouTuber Breaks Record with World's Largest Scaled-Up iPhone
A Guinness World Record was shattered when tech YouTuber Arun Maini, known as Mrwhosetheboss, and Matthew Perks, who operates under the name DIYPerks, constructed the world's largest fully functional iPhone 15 Pro Max. This impressively scaled-up smartphone replica stands over two meters, or 6.74 feet, tall.
Maini, who started uploading content on YouTube in 2011, amassed a large following with his tech reviews. Motivated to celebrate his milestone of surpassing Apple's subscriber count on YouTube, Maini envisioned creating the giant iPhone. His project goals required the phone to be completely operational – able to scroll flawlessly, send texts and emails, use standard apps, and feature a working touchscreen, camera, flashlight, and charging port.
Perks, a DIY specialist famous for homemade gadgets that often come in supersized or miniature variations of commercial products, was the ideal collaborator. The formidable duo successfully executed the build, realizing a unique and record-breaking tech marvel.
"This feels like a full-circle moment," Maini expressed. "I'm immensely proud of our team and Matt for achieving something previously thought impossible."
The innovative undertaking showcases the remarkable achievements possible through collaboration and passion within the tech community.
