The scandal surrounding Israel's representative at Eurovision 2024, singer Eden Golan, has flared up with renewed vigor. SSPDaily learned more about it.
According to Israeli publications, the organizing committee of the international contest plans to disqualify the participant. Golan's entry song "October rain" allegedly has political overtones.
The Israeli representative has not yet presented the song. The competition song was supposed to be released this week, but it is currently being checked by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for political overtones. According to local media, Golan faces disqualification.
The Israeli Broadcasting Company has already commented on the possible exclusion of their representative from the list of participants in Eurovision 2024. They noted that they would not change the lyrics, even if they were disqualified.
As a reminder, there has been a scandal around Eden Golan before. Earlier it became known that she had lived for some time in the aggressor country of Russia and had once performed in the occupied Crimea.
