Get out of bed

If you've been lying in bed for a long time without any signs of sleep, it's best to get up and move around. Walk around the room, drink tea in the kitchen, stand on the balcony, or get some fresh air. Staying in bed can reduce your chances of falling asleep and only increase your stress level. By changing the environment for 10-15 minutes, you are likely to feel more inclined to sleep.

Massage

Ask a loved one to give you a gentle, relaxing massage. This technique works wonders for insomniacs. A massage lasting 10 minutes can help relieve tension accumulated during the day. If you are alone, you can try stretching your neck, arms, and legs.

Shower at room temperature

Try taking a shower or bath with sea salt before going to bed, but make sure the water temperature does not exceed 37 degrees Celsius. Limit the duration of water procedures to 10 minutes. To enhance relaxation, add essential oils with soothing aromas, such as lavender, to your bath water. This will help calm your body and mind.

Practice intimate relationships

Sexual activity before bedtime can help you fall asleep faster. If you don't have a partner and often struggle with insomnia, it may be worth trying to find new opportunities to communicate and create a fulfilling relationship.

Ventilate the room

Sometimes too warm air in the room can make it difficult to fall asleep. Make sure that the temperature in the bedroom is normal and does not cause discomfort. Let some fresh air in by opening a window for about 15 minutes for maximum comfort.

In addition to these tips, it's helpful to switch your attention from incessant thoughts to something else. Find a comfortable position in bed and focus on mentally relaxing every muscle in your body. Once you have reached a deep state of relaxation, start stretching while lying down. This practice will help you to completely relax and relieve any remaining tension.
