Does Google Pixel Watch 2 support wireless charging and what else you need to know about this gadget
Compared to the Google Pixel Watch, the Google Pixel Watch 2 is more advanced. This includes battery life, an additional number of sensors that allow you to track various parameters - from skin temperature to a more accurate heart rate, as well as voice activation, personal security features, and support for more applications.
However, according to SSPDailyl, like the first version, Google Pixel Watch 2 does not support wireless charging. Instead, it uses charging via the output. It is generally more efficient, although perhaps not as convenient as a wireless device.
What else you need to know about charging the Google Pixel Watch 2
The Google Pixel Watch 2 uses a pin charging system, which requires the watch to be positioned in a certain way. Reportedly, this method provides a faster charging process compared to the Google Pixel Watch and less heating of the gadget.
There are four golden contact points on the underside of the watch. They must come into contact with the included charger, just like a Fitbit or Apple Watch does.
This also means that if you're upgrading from a Google Pixel Watch, you won't be able to use the included charger as an additional charger for the Google Pixel Watch 2.
As with the Apple Watch, the Google Pixel Watch 2 should be placed on the charger to ensure that the watch is charging properly. If you have used devices like Fitbit before, with a similar type of charging, then you know that they are quite fragile, so you need to handle them carefully. Especially if you take the charger with you on the road and put it in your bag or backpack.
At the same time, Google promises that Pixel Watch 2 charges twice as fast as the first model. According to the manufacturer, you can charge the gadget up to 80% in less than an hour (about 43 minutes), and up to 100% in an hour and 15 minutes. If you need to quickly replenish the battery, the speed in both cases will be the same - about half an hour to reach 50%.
The good news is that thanks to the longer battery life, including with the display on all the time (24 hours), you probably won't need to charge the Google Pixel Watch 2 too often. However, you still need to do it every day, especially if you want to wear it at night to track your sleep patterns.
