How to remove grease stains from kitchen towels
There are several ways to remove old grease stains from kitchen towels.
- Vegetable oil and bleach. For this method of washing, you need to take 8 liters of water, 3 tablespoons of any bleach, 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons of dishwashing gel. Stir everything well, bring the mixture to a boil, and then soak the towels in it for several hours. After soaking, rinse them well in warm water and your towels will be as good as new.
- Dishwashing gel. Take hot water, add a little dishwashing detergent, stir and soak the towels. After a few hours, wash them as usual.
- Laundry soap. Soap the fabric well and place it in a plastic bag for several hours. After that, wash the towels as usual, and they will not leave any greasy stains.
How to wash kitchen towels with the help of improvised means
- Hydrogen peroxide. It acts as a bleach, so it will cope well with old stains. Add 2 tablespoons of peroxide and 1 tablespoon of ammonia to five liters of warm water. Soak the towels in the solution for 2 hours, and the stains will disappear as if they had never been there.
- Citric acid. Sprinkle the washed wet towels with citric acid, and treat the stained areas especially thoroughly. Leave it on for an hour to work, then rinse the towels in room temperature water. You can also add citric acid to the laundry detergent before washing, and it will work as a natural bleach.
- Mustard powder. This product will serve as an eco-friendly bleach that is extremely safe for fabrics. Make a paste of mustard powder and water, apply it to wet stains and leave it on for an hour. Then wash the laundry as usual.
- Potassium permanganate. Dissolve a little potassium permanganate in warm water to form a pink solution, add a glass of laundry detergent, and mix well. Soak the towels in this solution for several hours and then wash them as usual.
