At first glance, you might think that French fries are a fairly simple dish that can be prepared without any problems. You cut the vegetable into pieces and fry it in oil. However, it's not as simple as it may seem. French fries served, for example, at McDonald's have a completely different taste.
SSPDaily found out one very simple trick that will help you make even more delicious fries at home. The dish will be quite crispy. It is enough to take just one ingredient, according to Pysznosci.pl.
For many years, a myth has been spreading on the Internet that in fast food restaurants, French fries are made from the pulp of a vegetable, which is why they are so soft inside and crispy on the outside. However, the secret to perfect crispiness lies in proper cooking.
Of course, complex technological processes and special equipment largely affect the taste of the dish. However, you don't need to organize all this at home. Just take corn starch and the result will pleasantly surprise you.
First of all, you need to thinly slice the vegetable. If you do it too thickly, the dish will not be as tasty. After that, immerse the future fries in cold water with alcohol vinegar (1:10 ratio) for half an hour. This soaking will help get rid of excess starch.
After the procedure, place the slices on a paper towel and dry thoroughly. Next, cover with a thin layer of cornstarch (1 kg of potatoes will need about 1 tbsp). Now the vegetable is ready for frying in heated oil.
Remember not to throw a lot of fries into the pan at once, as this will lower the temperature of the oil and therefore the potatoes will start to boil rather than fry.
