Fruits will grow sweet and juicy: try a unique Japanese method of growing cucumbers
This method may be of interest to many Ukrainian gardeners because it is quite unusual. SSPDaily tells about it.
The main secret of this method is to use soil with 5% (by weight) of seaweed added to it. It depends on them how well the seeds germinate and how many sprouts take root.
And the most important thing is that most serious diseases, such as black leg, appear extremely rarely or do not remind of themselves at all.
And when the seedlings are transplanted, it is recommended to add a small amount of chlorella, a microscopic single-celled green algae, to each hole. According to the Japanese, it promotes rooting.
It is also worth adding 1-2 tbsp of powdered eggshells to the soil to protect future cucumber bushes from the bear. It is recommended to grow seeds in paper cups that decompose over time.
After transplanting, experts advise watering each bush with 0.5 liters of water.
The Japanese use straw as mulch, which is usually used to cover the bed with a layer of 3 cm. But if you add nitrogen-based fertilizers, the cucumbers will be very juicy and sweet, regardless of the variety.
