Hacks for removing stains from faux leather
SSPDaily has prepared three life hacks that provide exceptional results in removing stains from imitation leather. Whether it's spilled liquid or an unsightly stain, these remedies will help restore the beauty of the product.
Mild soap and water
Simply mix a small amount of mild soap with warm water to create a soapy solution. Gently blot the stained area with a soft cloth dampened in the solution, being careful not to rub vigorously.
After the stain disappears, remove the soap residue with a clean, damp cloth. Allow the faux leather to air dry completely before using it or applying any other products.
White vinegar and olive oil
Mix equal parts vinegar and olive oil in a small bowl. Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with the mixture and gently rub the stained area.
The vinegar helps break down the stain, while the olive oil helps condition the imitation leather. Leave the mixture on for a few minutes and then wipe it off with a clean, dry cloth. Repeat the process if necessary until the stain is completely removed.
Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide
Make a thick paste by mixing a small amount of baking soda with hydrogen peroxide. Apply the paste to the contaminated area and rub it gently with a soft brush or cloth.
Leave the paste on for a few minutes and then wipe it off with a clean, damp cloth. This powerful combination helps to effectively remove and break down stubborn stains. Don't forget to do a pilot test on a hidden area of the faux leather first to ensure compatibility.
