How to conceal nasolabial folds on any skin: a life hack that works for everyone
Nasolabial folds are the longitudinal lines on the skin that extend from the wings of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They appear when you laugh and diminish or disappear when your face relaxes.
The appearance of nasolabial folds in young people is often due to genetic predisposition, and as individuals age, the production of elastin and collagen slows down. This results in the skin becoming less elastic and firm, leading to the formation of deep nasolabial folds.
Makeup artist Lauren Gale, known as a walking encyclopedia of anti-aging life hacks, shared with us how to address nasolabial folds without surgery or injections. This was reported by SSPDaily.
How to diminish nasolabial folds with makeup
The technique involves lightening the area of the fold, making it appear less pronounced and ultimately helping you look younger.
To do this, you'll need a concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your natural skin tone, your usual foundation, and thin makeup brushes.
- Take a thin brush, apply a small amount of concealer to it, and with a slight smile, apply it along the crease. Then, blend the product thoroughly.
- Next, take your foundation and apply it along the crease line in the same manner, slightly extending outward from the crease itself.
This combination of light and neutral products will visually fill in the crease, making your face appear younger.
You can set the makeup to last throughout the day by applying translucent powder.
