How to correctly read water meter readings: key nuances to remember
The information from SSPDaily indicates that some houses may have multiple water meters. If a house is not connected to central heating, there will typically be only one meter for cold water. However, if it is connected to central heating, there will also be a meter for hot water.
Nevertheless, there are houses with separate risers in the kitchen and bathroom. In such cases, the number of meters can increase to four.
Water meters can be either mechanical or electronic. However, they do not differ in anything other than the way they display information.
It is important to remember one thing: the amount of water consumed is displayed in liters, but when reporting the readings, they need to be converted to cubic meters. Typically, this is done by separating the figure with a comma or highlighting the consumption in liters in a different color.
For instance, if you see the number 000123.456 on your water meter, only 123 is transmitted (representing the volume of water used in cubic meters), while 456 represents the volume of water in liters.
Rounding the number up or down will not matter much.
