How to quickly cook deep-fried chicken
Fried chicken is a popular meat appetizer. Of course, you can buy it ready-made in any supermarket, but you must admit that a dish prepared with your own hands is much tastier. SSPDaily tells about it.
BBC Food writes: "A delicious and juicy roast chicken can be prepared in an air fryer in just over an hour. In this case, the bird is upside down for half the cooking time, so the breast remains moist. The skin is perfectly fried and gets a golden hue." Here is the recipe for the dish.
Ingredients
- 20 g of softened butter;
- 1 whole chicken of good quality, weighing 1.4-1.5 kg;
- ½ lemon:
- 2 whole cloves of garlic;
- a handful of thyme or a few sprigs of rosemary;
- salt and freshly ground black pepper.
How to cook chicken
- Preheat a deep fryer to 180°C and rub the skin of the chicken with butter. Season well with salt and pepper.
- Place half a lemon, garlic and thyme inside the chicken.
- Roast the chicken breast side down for 30 minutes. Then turn to the other side and roast for another 35 minutes. Make sure the chicken is fully cooked. Juice should run out of it if you pierce the thick parts of the breast or thigh with a skewer or knife.
Let the chicken breathe for a few minutes before cutting it into portions.
How to cut the chicken correctly
- If the air fryer does not fit a whole chicken, use a half or separate pieces.
- You can cut the chicken along the backbone with special large scissors or a boning knife. Then you need to turn it over and cut the breast in the middle. As a result, you will have two halves that will fit snugly in the air fryer.
For portions, use 2 chicken thighs or 2 drumsticks per person.
How to make the sauce
The juice from the fried chicken in the air fryer can be used to make a sauce.
Add a little water to loosen any bits stuck to the base, then pour into a saucepan. Add a little flour, chicken broth or wine, and whisk over medium heat until thickened.
Leftover fried chicken can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
