How to stimulate the germination of old seeds: an effective solution
When it comes to gardening, even old seeds have the potential to germinate if the right methods are applied. SSPDaily has shared an effective way to do it.
First, prepare two glasses - fill one with boiling water (70-80 degrees Celsius) and the other with cold water. Carefully select the seeds you want to plant, whether they are tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, or any other variety. Securely wrap the seeds in cheesecloth, placing them first in the glass of hot water and then in cold water.
It is very important to repeat this process three times, but be careful not to leave the seeds in the boiling water for longer than 3-5 seconds, as prolonged exposure can prevent germination or cause irreparable damage.
After this treatment, the seeds are considered ready for germination. If you want an additional level of protection for the seeds, you can perform additional sterilization. A useful method is to treat them with a solution of hay bacillus or potassium permanganate.
To speed up the germination process, create a moist environment for the seeds. This can be done by carefully wrapping them in a damp cloth or placing them in a jar. Leave them in a warm place to allow the germination cycle to begin naturally.
