SSPDaily prepared a few simple remedies for a bountiful harvest that you need to do berofe sowing.
Seedsneed to be sorted
First, the seeds need to be sorted out - pour the seeds on paper and select large and small seeds by eye. Leave the medium-sized seeds for sowing.
Identify hollow seeds - put them in a container with an aqueous salt solution of 30 g per 1 liter of water. Throw away the seeds that have risen, take out the ones that have sunk to the bottom.
Disinfecting seeds
Soak the seeds in a solution of potassium permanganate for 10-15 minutes, then rinse and dry. You can use ready-made products that have a special antifungal effect.
To treat pepper seeds against late blight, experts recommend soaking the seeds in saline. Leave the seeds in this solution for 12-24 hours, and then rinse them under running water and dry them.
To prevent late blight, pepper seeds can be treated with a soda-based solution. Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of hot water. Soak the seeds in the warm solution for 12-24 hours, then rinse under running water and dry.
Saturation with trace elements
This stage is important, but not necessary. Some people buy special mineral mixtures for this purpose, while others use their own recipes. The most popular is the method of soaking in a solution of wood ash. To prepare it, dilute 20 g of ash in 1 liter of water, let it stand for a day, then put the pepper seeds in a cloth bag and dip them in the solution for 5 hours. After that, place the peppers on paper to dry.
Soaking before sowing
Spread the pepper seeds on a wet cloth, paper napkin, and cover the top. Make sure that the seeds are constantly moist and that the room temperature does not drop below 25°. After a week or two, sprouts will begin to appear. You can sow pepper seeds that have already swelled or those that have already sprouted.
Hardening peppers
Before sowing, place the soaked seeds in a room with an air temperature of -1° for a day or keep them in a warm place for 10 days, and put them in a cold room with a temperature of -20° at night. After hardening, the seeds are dried before sowing peppers.
