Do you want to wash your pillows but don't know how to do it? SSPDaily has shared some practical tips that will help you avoid fluffing pillows with different fillings.
Feather pillows
For down or feather pillows, use a delicate wash cycle with a mild detergent. Put two pillows in the machine to balance the load and prevent uneven spin. Add a few clean tennis balls to the drum to prevent churning and avoid material clumping.
Synthetic pillows
Synthetic and foam pillows are best washed by hand. Fill a tub or bowl with warm water and a little detergent. Gently wiggle the pillows to remove dirt and odors. Rinse them thoroughly to get rid of any soap residue. Then squeeze out the excess water without twisting or wringing them. Dry the pillows outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
Care for foam pillows
If your pillows are made of foam, do not machine wash them. Instead, spot clean stains with a mixture of mild detergent and warm water. Gently blot the stains with a clean cloth or sponge, taking care not to soak the foam. Let the pillow dry in a well-ventilated area. To freshen up the pillow, sprinkle it with baking soda and leave it for a few hours, then vacuum it thoroughly.
