What is fruit sando?
This quick, light snack is a bliss for your taste buds. Slices of Japanese milk bread are covered with fresh, colorful fruit and whipped cream.
For this recipe, it is best to take shokupan, a traditional, fluffy bread from Japan. Together with fruit and cream, it is a real treat.
How to make fruit sando?
For this recipe, you need to arrange the fruit correctly to emphasize its beauty and whip the cream to stiff peaks.
- Take 2 slices of shokupan or any milk bread (shokupan is a soft and fluffy authentic Japanese milk bread)
- 100 grams of whipped cream (low-fat)
- 20 grams of condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 tangerine
- 4-5 grapes (or fruit of your choice)
The recipe is as follows
1. Whip the cream in a large bowl, chilled, with a hand blender until stiff peaks form.
2. Mix with vanilla extract and condensed milk.
3. Place the mixture in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the other ingredients.
4. Rinse the grapes thoroughly and remove the peel from the tangerine using a sharp knife.
5. Take the chilled whipped cream out of the fridge and prepare a work surface with plastic wrap. Place one slice of bread on the plastic wrap.
6. Spread a thin layer of whipped cream over the bread and carefully arrange the fruit diagonally across the slice. You can also place some fruit in the corners of the bread.
7. Fill in the remaining space with whipped cream and close the structure with the remaining slice of bread. Press the top slice lightly.
8. Carefully wrap the sandwich in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
9. Once chilled, remove the sandwich from the refrigerator, carefully trim the edges of the bread, and slice the sandwich so that the diagonal lines of fruit are still visible.
10. Serve with sando.
