Recent studies by psychologists have shown that men and women have different attitudes towards kissing. Moreover, many men don't like it at all.
The Your Tango website became interested in this topic and analyzed the most popular opinions of men about kissing. Here's what users of the AskMen subreddit think about it, what scares them and makes them happy at such moments.
Fear of close proximity
"I have a strange habit: I hate it when people look at me. I guess subconsciously I'm afraid that my breath stinks and I don't want anyone to smell it."
Problems with sexual education
"I don't like kissing because people often judge me for it. I'm sorry, but some people had a different upbringing and they never had the opportunity to learn how to kiss a girl."
The perfect foreplay
"I like to kiss. It's my favorite kind of intimacy."
It's just part of the process
"My attitude to kissing depends on how long it lasts. It's okay, for example, for 5-10 minutes while we move on to something else, but kissing for a long time is boring for me."
The simpler the better
"Some people don't like kissing. I'm a big fan of it as long as I don't use my tongue. Then everything is fine."
Only kiss someone you care about
"I don't like kissing people I don't have feelings for. Of course, it's part of the game, but if we're not together, I don't find it fun."
You might like it over time
"I didn't do it for a long time because my mom used to make me kiss her on the lips to show that she 'loved' me. I hated it. Only when I started dating a girl regularly did I like it."
It can get boring quickly
"I don't really get ecstatic when I kiss. It's just something you have to do to move on to the next stages. I dated a woman who loved to kiss and would completely switch off at that moment. She hated it when I stopped because she just wanted lip to lip contact all the time, but I get bored of that quickly."
That's terrible
"Yeah, I really don't like it. Especially the tongues. If I wanted a part of me in someone's mouth, I would have studied to be a dentist."
