The summer season is especially joyful for children who love to swim. For parents, one of the challenges is choosing the right bathing suit for their daughters and sons.
Nikki Scarnati, a swimming instructor from Florida, explained why blue is the most dangerous color when choosing a swimsuit for a child.
"Never put your children in a blue bathing suit," said the woman, who is a certified children's swimming instructor and has two children of her own. She then turned the camera to the right, and showed her two-year-old daughter splashing around in the pool in a blue one-piece suit.
The footage then shows the girl literally "disappearing" into the water. The effect intensifies as the child dives deeper.
"Look how hard it is to see her underwater. And this is in calm water. You can hardly see her among a whole bunch of other kids playing, splashing and having fun, even in bright sunlight," Nikki says.
The video, which has been viewed more than 6.2 million times, makes it extremely clear that the child in the blue swimsuit is unrealistic to see in the water.
In the comments, one of the subscribers said, "I am a former lifeguard and this is absolutely correct. All shades of blue are hard to see."
At the same time, Scarnati recommends that parents buy their children swimsuits of the brightest possible colors, including neon ones.
