Top tips from a nutritionist: how to reduce time spent cooking and washing dishes
Household chores, though necessary, sometimes take too much time. Luckily, we live in the age of social media, where you can easily find the answer to any vital question and solve the problem quickly.
For example, The Sun reports that in one of the most popular videos on Tik Tok, nutritionist and culinary nutrition expert Stephanie ( @sharingfoodforlife ) shared tips on how to cook faster and do less dishes. In particular, she said: "We're all busy people, and we don't always have time to peel, chop, grate, and marinate."
The expert then mentioned that there are cooking secrets that save a lot of time. For example, Stephanie explained that when she cooks chicken breasts, she cuts them in half with kitchen scissors to make them cook faster. This also allows her to avoid using a cutting board and, consequently, not wash it afterwards.
Another tip from the expert is to buy smaller pasta, which cooks faster than "regular" pasta.
Stephanie also shared a quick recipe for a dish that takes her 20 minutes to prepare.
Ingredients for the recipe: three chicken breasts, three tablespoons of pesto, one can of beans (drained), one package of cherry tomatoes (250 g), 100 ml of cream, one cube of chicken broth, 100 ml of hot water, and 250 g of pasta.
First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees, cut the chicken breasts in half and place them in a baking dish.
- Use 1 tbsp of the pesto to baste the chicken, and reserve the remaining sauce for later.
- Add the tomatoes and beans to the dish, then mix the hot water and the bouillon cube, then add the cream.
- After mixing, put the mixture in a baking dish and put it in the oven for 15 minutes.
- While the chicken is cooking, start cooking the pasta.
- Remove the casserole dish, checking that the chicken is fully cooked.
- Transfer the cooked pasta to a baking dish and add the remaining 2 tbsp of pesto.
You should have a delicious meal for four people in 20 minutes.
