Cher and Jimmy Fallon Dress Up as Turkeys for Thanksgiving Performance: 'The Turkettes'
The two performed a humorous take on Cher's songs, transforming lyrics into turkey sounds.
Cher, 78, and Fallon, 50, donned matching turkey costumes to deliver a comedic Thanksgiving act. This hilarious performance served as the cold open for the November 28 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Calling themselves "The Turkettes," they presented a mashup of Cher's iconic tunes, substituting every lyric with turkey noises. Their costumes featured vibrant red, orange, and yellow feathers, turkey headpieces, and feather wings, setting a festive stage.
The performance opened with the familiar melody of "I Got You Babe," Cher's classic song from 1965. Even with lyrics confined to just "gobble" and "bawk," the audience instantly recognized the tune's essence.
Following this, they shifted to lively renditions of "If I Could Turn Back Time" and "Believe," both major hits from Cher's career in 1989 and 1998. Laughter often interrupted their singing, adding to the lighthearted mood.
At the close of their act, Fallon enthusiastically exclaimed, "Cher, ladies and gentlemen!" He waved a feathered arm graciously to the audience and added, "Happy Thanksgiving!"
Recently, Cher released her memoir titled Cher, which traces her life and career up until her relocation to New York. The book explores her family background, her move to Los Angeles, and her relationship with Sonny Bono, alongside the success of The Sonny and Cher Show.
