Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S24 Ultra, has caused quite a stir in the tech world. For the sixth year in a row, the company has chosen 8 GB of RAM as the standard configuration, abandoning the 16 GB version. This surprising move was confirmed by the reputable insider Ice Universe. SSPDaily has gathered more information about the device's characteristics.
Memory
The last time Samsung presented a flagship phone with 8 GB of RAM was back in 2019 when it released the Galaxy S10. This choice may disappoint some enthusiasts who were hoping for more memory in their devices.
However, fans of the larger version can still rejoice as the Galaxy S24 Ultra will offer a 12GB RAM option. It's worth noting that while the company is sticking with 8GB, other manufacturers have already pushed the envelope by equipping their models with 24GB of RAM.
Processor
In addition to the RAM information, another interesting piece of news is that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, available worldwide. However, the standard Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models will differ depending on your region, offering either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Exynos 2400 processor.
Connectivity
All three models, including the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, have appeared in the FCC's database, indicating that they will be coming soon. According to the regulator, both the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will have Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC modules. In contrast, the Ultra version will be equipped with a Wi-Fi 7 wireless adapter.
Price and presentation
Although the prices for these smartphones have not been disclosed yet, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S24 line on January 17, 2024.
