Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope Reconcile After Divorce Filing: ‘Beyond Blessed’
Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope are seemingly back together! On December 4, 2023, Lawrence, 48, shared two romantic photos on Instagram featuring himself and his estranged wife, Cope, 37. This comes nearly five months after Cope initiated divorce proceedings.
In one photo, the couple smiles at a premiere for their holiday film, Marry Christmas, where they portray an engaged couple planning a Christmas wedding. Another photo captures a tender kiss between them.
"I am beyond grateful 🤍 I am beyond blessed 🤍 I am galaxies beyond thankful 🤍 My heart is so full ❤️," Lawrence wrote in his Instagram post.
Earlier this year, Cope filed for divorce on August 21, only two months following their documented separation. Court documents revealed that Cope requested sole physical custody of their 22-month-old daughter, Dylan. She indicated that Lawrence could see Dylan for two nights each week, starting when their daughter turns three, and declined to seek spousal support.
On October 8, Cope amended her request for joint legal custody while still pursuing sole physical custody of Dylan.
Lawrence and Cope began their relationship following his breakup with ex-wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson in July 2020, after meeting on the set of Lifetime’s My Husband’s Secret Brother.
"It was a crazy year and a half for everybody, obviously the whole world," Lawrence said in 2021, reflecting on their connection amid the pandemic. "When you least expect it, amazing things happen. Meeting her has just been the greatest thing ever."
In August 2021, Us Weekly revealed their engagement, prompting Lawrence to express his excitement for their future together.
"We are beyond excited to see what the future holds for us. Growing old and wrinkly together is the ultimate blessing," he shared.
The couple married in May 2022, later announcing they were expecting their first child. Lawrence also has daughters Charleston, 18, and Liberty, 14, from his previous marriage.
"The blessings just keep on coming. Proud of you babe! 🖤," he posted alongside a photo of himself cradling Cope’s baby bump in September 2022.
