Lisa Kudrow Reveals Friends Cast Only Dined Together Once After Show's End

Lisa Kudrow, best known for her role as Phoebe Buffay, recently shared a surprising fact about the Friends cast. Despite their close-knit bond, they only had one dinner together after the series wrapped up. This revelation came during Kudrow's appearance on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s "Dinner’s On Me" podcast.

Kudrow revealed that the memorable dinner occurred approximately ten years after the show concluded in 2004. She remarked that the group, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and the late Matthew Perry, "didn’t miss a beat" during their reunion. "It was so great that it felt like, ‘We should do this more,’" she noted.

The cast's next gathering occurred in 2021 for the Friends: The Reunion special on HBO Max, where they revisited their iconic characters and storylines. Tragically, this last meeting was also the final time the full group was seen together, as Matthew Perry passed away in October 2023.

Kudrow expressed her shock over Perry’s death, saying, "It shook us up, I have to say." She recounted his words, which predicted that while his passing wouldn't come as a surprise, it would definitely be a shock. "It was a big jolt," she added.

On the December 9 episode of Dax Shepard's "Armchair Expert" podcast, Kudrow found some solace in knowing that Perry was happy before he passed away. "This will sound odd. I’m more comforted that he was happy the day he died," she explained. To her, this realization was a significant gift.

Kudrow emphasized that the deep bond among the six Friends stars did not happen by chance. "It was great; we really did get along," she shared. "We worked hard at being friends." She acknowledged that respectful communication was crucial for maintaining their relationships. Kudrow noted how learning to address conflicts respectfully was vital, highlighting Courteney, Jennifer, and Matt as good models for that behavior.
