Priyanka Chopra Discusses Marriage to Nick Jonas: "You've Got to Kiss a Lot of Frogs Until You Find Your Prince"

Priyanka Chopra opens up about her journey to finding love. In a new cover interview for "Harper’s Bazaar UK" March 2025 issue, she shares insights about her husband, Nick Jonas. The couple shares a 3-year-old daughter, Malti.

"I wouldn’t have married [Nick] if he didn’t tick all the right boxes," Chopra remarked. "Look for someone who truly respects you. Respect differs from love and affection. You’ve got to kiss a lot of frogs until you find your prince."
Chopra's remarks follow her revelation from 2023 about making "the same mistakes" in earlier relationships before meeting Jonas. On the "Armchair Expert" podcast, she recalled, "A lot of the pattern in my relationships was me feeling gaslit," due to prioritizing her partners. She learned the value of putting herself first before meeting Jonas, PEOPLE reported.

Chopra and Jonas first connected in 2016 when he reached out on X (formerly Twitter). He suggested a date, stating, "I’m hearing from a few mutual friends that we should meet."
During her podcast appearance, Chopra noted she was ending a "tumultuous relationship" when she received his message. She admitted, "I didn’t want to engage as much at the time." Reflecting on their age difference, she added, "I really put a stop to it because I was eager to settle down."
Despite her hesitations, the pair communicated through "random texts" and finally met in person in 2017 at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. They quickly formed a bond.

At that same event, Jonas proposed a year later. "This is in front of a bunch of people," he recalled. He humorously remarked, "You're real. Where have you been all my life?" They became engaged on July 27, 2018, during a trip to Crete, coinciding with Chopra’s birthday.
On December 1, 2018, the couple wed in India. They welcomed their first child, Malti, via surrogate on January 15, 2022.
