Rihanna Celebrates the New Year Sober: 'New Year, New Me'

Rihanna joyously welcomed 2025 while remaining alcohol-free. The singer revealed she didn’t drink at all during 2024. She shared this milestone on Instagram as she prepared for the New Year.

In a clip posted on January 1, Rihanna counted down to midnight with friends while holding a phone displaying the ball drop in Times Square. After the countdown, she expressed her excitement: "Y’all, I didn’t drink all year! I didn’t drink all year."

She captioned the post, "New Year, New Me." In addition to her sobriety celebration, Rihanna displayed her playful side. She filmed a humorous moment with a friend using her Fenty Hair shampoo to clean a hair extension.

"You owe me a new bottle!" she said playfully in the video. "For one stinkin’ track!" Rihanna shared this lighthearted moment, captioning it, "De Dirt!!! We walking into 2025 CLEANSED baby! 1 track at a time! Also tell @mdollas11 stay out my bathroom!"

Rihanna celebrated the New Year in New York City alongside her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky. The couple has two sons, RZA, age 2, and Riot, age 1.

In an earlier conversation with PEOPLE in October, Rihanna discussed her comfortable parenting uniform for her energetic boys. She prefers clothes that are stretchy, cozy, and practical for bending down to pick them up. "Those are the things I look for," she shared.

A$AP Rocky, 36, offered insights into the styles of their sons, emphasizing Rihanna's influence. "I don't have any contribution when my sons get dressed," he remarked. "Sometimes she dresses them like me with kilts, but that's all their mom, man. She has good style and taste."
