Martin Scorsese revealed the secret of why it is so easy for him to work with DiCaprio
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most charismatic figures in Hollywood over the past two decades. His involvement in any project ensures that the film will be commercially successful at the box office and cherished by the audience.
According to Life Style, DiCaprio's latest collaboration with Martin Scorsese, released on October 20, has become his next "hit" — "Killers of the Flower Moon."
After the film's premiere, in an interview with CNN, the legendary director explained why he works so well with DiCaprio, whom he says was introduced to him by Robert De Niro.
Although known for not recommending actors to directors as a matter of principle, De Niro made an exception this time and assured Scorsese that this young man was very promising.
According to Scorsese, the movie "The Aviator" really brought them closer together.
"The Aviator" - before and after
During the filming of "The Aviator" (2004), which portrayed the life of aviation pioneer Howard Hughes, the actor and director discovered that despite a significant age difference of 34 years, they shared "the same sensibility," says the director.
"He would tell me about someone's book," Scorsese recalls. "And then he would come and talk to me about the music of 1943, which I grew up with."
Most of all, he admired the way DiCaprio fearlessly approached all the roles he took on and the fact that "he didn't seem to care about anything, about any task set before him."
"He handled a lot of things," the 80-year-old director added. "When you travel the world, you only see pictures of him when he was young, and he did a lot to change that image. Perhaps working with me on 'The Aviator' or 'The Departed' allowed him to do that."
What is Martin Scorsese's new movie about?
Set in 1920s Oklahoma, Scorsese's new three-and-a-half-hour film tells the story of the Osage tribe and Native Americans in the state.
With the assistance of two of his best actors, DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, the director continues to work and has no plans to retire.
