JoJo Siwa Opens Up About Publicly Sharing Her Dating Life

JoJo Siwa's journey with her personal life has taken an open-book turn, particularly since she began dating Dakayla Wilson, a former contestant of "So You Think You Can Dance." At 21, the singer and dancer recently addressed the complexities of romance under public scrutiny during her appearance at Rhode Island Comic Con on November 1. Siwa previously aimed to keep her romantic life private after a challenging past relationship was made public, leading her to keep two subsequent flings discreet, PEOPLE reported.

"My mom always advised that not everyone needs to know everything," JoJo recounted, reflecting on how hard it inherently is to keep secrets when one is as expressive and in the limelight as she is. She initially vowed to conceal her dating endeavors but changed her stance after meeting Wilson, noting, "I feel special with her – it's unique."

JoJo opened up about the joy she finds with Wilson. "We’re young, having fun, and continue learning about life together. I really love this girl," she confided. Her desire to publicly embrace this relationship stems from genuinely feeling secure and valued in it – a new experience for her.

Siwa further elaborated on her fulfilling career after her success with Nickelodeon and musical pursuits which followed her revelation as part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021. She cherishes her musical evolution as she grows personally and professionally signifying broad and nuanced ways she seeks authenticity in life combined with embracing her current romantic chapter with Dakayla Wilson.
