An American man who is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the number of McDonald's Big Macs eaten in a lifetime has extended his record by eating another 728 hamburgers in 2023. SSPDaily tells about it
The Guinness Book of World Records says that Donald Gorske, a 70-year-old resident of Fond du Lac, has eaten 34,128 Big Macs in his lifetime.
Gorske, who has kept the receipts and packaging from every hamburger he has eaten, first tasted the specialty on May 17, 1972.
"At that moment, I said: "I'll probably eat this for the rest of my life." I threw the boxes in the backseat and started counting them from day one," said the fast food fan.
Gorske, who has held the record since 1999, says his eating habits have changed over time: he used to eat up to nine sandwiches a day, but now he usually limits himself to two.
"People who have watched me eat a Big Mac often comment that I look like I'm eating it for the first time," he said.
Donald is not averse to trying something new: once, in 1984, he ate a Burger King Whopper, but decided it was just not the right option.
"If I like something, I always stick with it," he said.
So, apart from Big Macs, Don doesn't eat anything else. He skips breakfast, and the only food he eats is a small evening snack, such as ice cream, a fruit bar, or potato chips. His favorite food used to be lobster, but Don says the last time he ate it was over 28 years ago.
The man also shared that his unusual diet has not harmed his health, and he maintains his figure by refraining from French fries.
"Many people thought I was already dead, but instead I have been a record holder for 24 years - one of the longest holders of the Guinness Book of Records, so it's very cool for me," he boasted.
