A 73-year-old grandmother who worked two jobs won a luxurious mansion - photo
In the United Kingdom, a cook who worked two jobs at the age of 73 will finally change her life after winning a £3 million dream home in the lottery.
This was reported by SSPDaily.
Rose Doyle, a grandmother of four grandchildren, and her husband Tony have lived in the same three-bedroom house in Birmingham for 44 years.
Now, the couple is preparing to move to a luxurious five-bedroom estate on the coast in Cornwall - complete with a hot tub, panoramic terrace and landscaped garden.
The prize also included £100,000 in cash, so it was easy for her to make the decision to retire when she found out about her win.
The win came as an even bigger shock to her as she stopped paying attention to the results, which show winners receiving properties worth at least a million pounds.
"Because I know I'm automatically entered into every draw, I don't keep track of all the houses every time, so at first I had no idea we had won. We thought it was going to be a little holiday in Cornwall or a few hundred pounds - we didn't think for a minute that we'd won a £3 million house there - things like that just don't happen to people like us."
Tony, a gas engineer, is also seriously considering retirement.
Speaking about their plans to enjoy the home, Rose said: "We have a big family, so we're going to be very popular this summer, the phone will be ringing off the hook because everyone will want to book a vacation here. I don't know yet what we're going to do in the long run, but we're definitely going to enjoy this place as a family. Whatever we decide to do, it will change our whole life for the better - it's a real miracle."
The house overlooks the idyllic Cornish seaside village of St. Agnes. Rose said that the interiors are "absolutely gorgeous" and that she "will never get tired of going out on the balcony and admiring these stunning views."
