Did you know that a tattoo can tell a lot about your personality, who you really are? Tattoo artists claim that we choose designs for a reason, our final decision is influenced by the subconscious, which seeks to express itself in this way. This was reported by SSPDaily.
The Sun writes: "From the compass and lion to the flower, renowned tattoo studio owner Mike Philp has revealed what your tattoo says about you. Here are the 12 most popular designs that his clients ask him for most often."
Compass
According to the tattoo artist, this is a very common request, indicating a certain level of spirituality.
"Such people like to travel, they are non-corporate and optional," he says. "They work to live, not live to work."
Tribal drawings
Mike explains that tattoos are a popular choice for men who want to emphasize their masculinity and originality.
As a rule, they like football, beer at the local pub, their friends and family.
Tigers and lions
Mike notes that a tiger tattoo can look "absolutely stunning" on the right person.
"For the client, it means that they are a bright and strong personality," the tattoo artist says.
At the same time, the expert notes that the image of a lion says something completely different. "It means 'I am a protector,'" Mike explains. "This option is often chosen by fathers of families because they want to take care of their children and be the main breadwinner."
Football
Mike notes that although tattoos depicting his favorite club or player are no longer in trend, he still gets asked for them.
According to him, such tattoos are requested by skinheads and family men for whom the ideal vacation is "an evening of football, with beer and friends."
Dwayne Johnson's tattoo
The artist explains: "When a male client brings in a photo of Dwayne Johnson and asks, 'Can I have that?', it's always a moment for me as an artist. There aren't many guys in the world who have the physicality of The Rock, so the artwork will never look as good."
He goes on to note that these clients are usually family men, middle-aged to slightly older, who are "well built and go to the gym from time to time."
Gladiator
"If you have a gladiator tattoo, you're probably a man who is fascinated by the idea of the 'warrior' within himself," Mike says.
"They usually already have several tattoos and consider themselves alpha males."
Flowers
Mike explains that tattoos in the form of flowers look very beautiful if they are done correctly.
"They're usually done by women to emphasize calmness, tranquility, and beauty."
Tattoos in the lower back
"This is what we artists jokingly call a lower back tattoo," Mike explains.
"Such tattoos are quite old-fashioned in terms of requests, and in the 90s it was more of a female thing."
David Beckham's religious tattoo
Football legend David Beckham is covered from head to toe in body art and has an impressive collection of drawings.
One of Beckham's most famous tattoos is on his neck and is a cross and wings in the Gothic style. It symbolizes his spirituality and serves as a talisman for his son Romeo, whose name is tattooed just below the angel's wings.
Mike explains that, as with the Dwayne Johnson tattoo, a client who would ask for a religious Beckham tattoo is someone who admires celebrities and "aspires to be like them in terms of status and wealth."
He warns: "Again, as with The Rock's tattoos, you need to be able to wear them, and not everyone has the looks and physical attributes of Beckham that make them look so good."
Waves
The tattoo artist notes that clients who ask for a wave tattoo are typically philosophers.
Michael explains: "The wave says that life is always moving forward. Following its movement, we fall and rise, but eventually it crashes on the shore and we die."
Tattoos on his face
Mike notes that face tattoos are very popular nowadays.
"These requests come from people who follow the style of an ultra-modern rapper," he says. "They want to be admired, to stand out, and to be looked at."
Pocket watch with the time of birth
According to Mike, this "in case I forget" tattoo is often ordered by parents who want to preserve the memory of their child's birth.
"It's usually applied to the forearm," he says. "It's all about family."
Lightning bolt
This is another popular tattoo request. Mike explains that people demonstrate their "strength, talent, passion, and loyalty" in this way.
