A California man who died seven years ago still "sends" his widow a bouquet of flowers every Valentine's Day. SSPDaily tells about it.

This was reported by SSPDaily.

John Maver died in 2017, but since then, every February 14, his wife Diana receives a bouquet of red and white flowers along with a card.

According to Diana, this is a sign of the love they have shared since they first met as teenagers living in Ontario, Canada.

"When I returned to Ontario, I met John through my cousin," she recalled. "His charm and charisma are why I immediately fell in love with him."

Diana was born in China and moved to Ontario at a young age. She and John went to different colleges, but kept in touch, and when Diana moved west to finish college, John followed her to California, where he proposed.

"It was a wonderful wedding with family and friends from Canada and America," said Diana. "There were at least 200 people at the wedding."

The couple had three children, all now in their 40s and 50s, and somewhere along the line, John started the tradition of giving Diana a bouquet of red and white flowers every June on their anniversary.

He did this for 47 years until he passed away in October 2017. Now the tradition continues on Valentine's Day with the help of the couple's two daughters.

"The bouquet is the perfect combination of their two favorite flowers," said Joan Clemente, one of the couple's daughters. "She loves red roses, my father loved white lilies. This is a combination of the best of both of them in a romantic bouquet."

According to Diana, John organized the delivery of the same bouquet and card every year, possibly for the rest of her life.

"My husband was an only child," Diana said. "He was very smart and had a great sense of humor. He was a very nice guy. Everyone would have liked him."
