Responsible cat owners always monitor the health of their pets. However, animals are not able to directly communicate their physical ailments, so it is very important for owners to recognize warning signs and symptoms that may indicate underlying health problems.

SSPDaily stated that by observing the cat's behavior and paying attention to body signals, you can detect and address problems in time.

A healthy animal, as a rule, has a good appetite, demonstrates a high level of energy, and exhibits playful behavior. In addition, a healthy cat looks well-groomed with a shiny coat and no discharge from the eyes or nose. The nose remains cool and moist, and the ears are free of any unpleasant odors.

If your cat shows sudden fearfulness or aggression, it is recommended that you contact your veterinarian to identify and address any potential health issues. Sometimes, cats regurgitate hairballs, which is normal. However, persistent vomiting along with refusal to eat and drink requires a visit to a veterinary clinic.

Diarrhea, the presence of mucus or blood in the feces, and a limp tail can also indicate health problems. Signs such as shortness of breath, prolonged sneezing or coughing, an unsteady gait, confusion, and failed attempts to go to the litter box should also be taken seriously, as they may indicate urinary tract, kidney, or respiratory infections. Also, unusual discharge from the eyes and nose should not be overlooked.

It is also recommended to periodically check cats for abnormal lumps or bumps on the body, which may be fatty deposits or potentially indicate cancer.

Regular visits to the veterinarian for annual checkups allow you to thoroughly examine your cat and identify any problems that may go unnoticed by owners at an early stage. In addition, regular preventative measures such as worming, flea treatment, and vaccinations are important to keep your cat healthy.
