Elaine LaLanne, a 97-year-old fitness celebrity, shared her secrets to living a long, happy and healthy life. According to her, everyone can follow these tips and change their lives, creating a stronger and healthier version of themselves.

E Times writes: "Elaine has been promoting fitness for over 70 years. In her most recent interview with the newspaper, she said that people ask her what the secret is to living a healthy and youthful life at 90. "My answer," she said, "is simple: 'Exercise is king. Nutrition is the queen. Combine them together and you have a kingdom."

Here are some of her simple but very effective tips to help you live a long and healthy life. This was reported by SSPDaily.

Exercise and move around

Elaine explained that aging accelerates when we stop moving. "To keep your mind active, you need to be active," she said. The expert advised to do a variety of workouts, including both muscle-strengthening exercises and aerobic activity "for 20 minutes every day."

Elaine also noted: "Scientists have found that the number of neurons in the brain - special cells that perform all the necessary functions to sustain life, as well as help with thinking and improve memory - increases after a few weeks of exercise."

Take care of yourself and stay in the company of young people

"People don't die of old age, they die of neglect and inactivity," Elaine says, explaining that it's in your hands to make your life interesting and fulfilling.

In her opinion, staying young is also helped by surrounding yourself with young people. "That's why I think young and act young," she added.

Eat right and enjoy food

Elaine emphasized the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables and avoiding processed foods "as much as possible." She added that you should treat your health like a bank account. "You have to earn the right to enjoy a cocktail or dessert once in a while."

Make positive decisions

Elaine said that when she started exercising, she was 27 years old and considered herself old. Now, at 97, she feels young. "Another good trait that will help you live a long life is patience," the fitness expert adds.

In addition, she recommends focusing on "positive" decisions, not the other way around. Finally, Elaine emphasized that the priority is your body's health. "Out of the 1,440 minutes you have in a day, wouldn't it make more sense to take 8 minutes for yourself?" she asked.

Sleep

The 97-year-old woman said that it is very important to rest and get enough sleep, even if you feel like you have a lot of energy. Sleep is one of the most important keys to a healthy lifestyle.

Who is Elaine LaLanne

Elaine and her late husband Jack LaLanne revolutionized modern fitness in the 1950s and 1960s. Jack opened the first modern fitness club called Jack LaLanne's Physical Culture Studio in 1936. He was also the first person to host a nationally televised exercise program.

Jack died in 2011 at the age of 96. Elaine continues to move forward on the path of fitness and longevity.
