Mom loses disability case for more than 760,000 euros due to 'all-time dirt' - photo
A mom who tried to get a huge sum of money for injuries she sustained in a car accident lost the case after an incredibly compromising photo surfaced.
SSPDaily tells about it.
Kamila Grabska, 36, said she was left in a state of "disability" after her car was hit from behind in February 2017.
Filing a lawsuit on the grounds that she had been unable to work for more than five years, play with her children or do housework due to constant pain in her neck and back, Grabska sought €760,383 for her injuries.
However, the High Court of Ireland in Limerick was shown a photograph that put an end to her case, as on January 8, 2018, she was pictured as the winner of a Christmas tree tossing competition.
The mother-of-two argued that although she looked happy in the photos that showed her throwing the Christmas tree, she was in fact still in pain.
However, Judge Carmel Stewart rejected Camila's case and said that a "very graphic photograph" of the mother throwing the Christmas tree helped her make her decision.
According to the Irish Independent, she said: "This is a very large natural tree and she is throwing it very skillfully. I am afraid I cannot but conclude that the claims have been completely exaggerated. On this basis, I propose to dismiss the lawsuit."
The mother told doctors that after the car accident her injuries were so severe that she could not lift a heavy bag without feeling pain.
The court documents claimed that after she quit her job after the accident and received disability benefits, her loss of earnings due to her inability to work amounted to €500,000.
She also said that there were days when she could not even get out of bed because of the severe pain, and that her husband had to bring her medication to where she was lying.
The court learned that just a few days after she was photographed as the winner of the Christmas tree throwing competition, she told doctors about the terrible pain she was in.
The court was also shown a video of her training her dog in a park for over an hour.
Grabska denied that she had faked her injuries and said that she was "just trying to live a normal life," but the judge said that her actions were "completely at odds" with her claims about the injuries she sustained in the car accident.
