Swam to the shore: the pilot and his dog miraculously survived after the plane crashed into the ocean
A pilot and his dog have safely swam to the shore after the plane crashed into the ocean. This was reported by SSPDaily.
The Los Angeles Times reported that an unidentified man and his dog are safe after the single-engine Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six he was piloting crashed into the Pacific Ocean near Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
Sgt. Jeffrey Velasco of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said the call about the crash came in on April 14 at 17:20 local time.
The incident occurred about 150-200 meters from the shore, near the Donald Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles, and a witness called 911.
A team of rescuers and medics was sent to the scene. However, the man and his pet made it to the shore on their own. Miraculously, they were not injured in the accident.
The plane sank, and divers tried to locate it, but no attempt was made to save the aircraft, which was manufactured in 1981.
The incident is still under investigation and the circumstances of the crash are still unclear, but the plane crash is classified as an "accident due to engine problems".
