Valuable baking: the bakery asks customers to check the pastries for the presence of a lost diamond
The owner of a bakery in Kansas is asking customers to eat their cookies carefully after she lost a diamond from her $4,000 ring in the dough. This was reported by SSPDaily.
She wrote about it on the Facebook page of Sis Sweets Cookies & Café in Leavenworth.
Dawn Monroe said the diamond fell off the ring, which had been on her finger for 36 years, at some point while she was in the store. She did not wear gloves while working, noting that she was not required to do so.
The woman is afraid that the gem ended up in the cookie dough. She promises a reward to the person who finds it and returns it.
"If you happen to find it, I will be forever indebted to you if you return it," she wrote on Friday, April 5.
On April 12, Monroe posted an update saying that the diamond had not yet been found.
